About a month ago, I visited one of my favorite thrift stores and found this beautiful wooden desk. It needed a bit of cleaning up, but the overall condition was great and I loved the shape of the legs and detail it had.
The inside of the drawers was already lined with this beautiful yellow floral paper- which was a pleasant surprise!
I couldn't pass it up- and now it sits in our home by the top of the stairs and holds a few things for us.
I took some pictures of it recently after selling this piece a while back.
Here is the updated look to give you an idea of how beautiful some pieces can be without paint!!
You can read all about the ruler growth chart I made for our girls here. They love it and it was such a quick and simple project to do!
The paint color on the door is Sherwin Williams Porpoise.
Wall color is Sherwin Williams Wool Skein.
How do you feel about painting furniture? Do you find it hard to paint pieces that have a story and are made well?

Facebook Page!!
Hi friends!!!
Well, after debating about it for a while, I decided to start a Facebook page for LoveOlympiaJune.
I don't know why but I was a little hesitant to do it- I guess because I was nervous about what kind of response I would get, but I really want to share my furniture pieces with more people.
SO....would you do me a HUGE favor and go to my facebook page and like it???
Pretty please, with a cherry on top?! ;)
Thank you again to all of my readers.
It really is exciting to know there are others out there who enjoy this blog and I love reading your comments.
Thanks everyone and have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Working with Wood Trim
Hey there...sorry for the silence over here, but we are in the late stages of selling and will be moving soon...we hope!!
The house we put an offer on has lots of great character that we have been wanting...it even has 2 staircases. It sounds a bit more luxurious than it is, but it's a great house where we can raise our girls...and we plan on having a larger family so there will be plenty of room!
One of the things I noticed about the home when we first walked in was all of the wood trim. It is everywhere. It is actually quite beautiful and I would keep it that way, except the upstairs trim had already been painted white and some of the downstairs has been painted...so it's a bit mismatched. It seems that we will be painting lots of trim after we move...but in the meantime, I wanted to share some pictures of some beautiful homes that have wood trim that has NOT been painted.

It seems that wood trim works best with older homes. I still think we will be painting over the wood trim (which will be a bit sad) but if we don't, then we would have multiple trim colors throughout the home and that might look a bit strange.
We will see what happens. :)
Hoping to have some news about the move soon...but in the meantime, I will be posting some more inspirational photos. There are some great home designs out there and it's always fun browsing for inspiration!
Thanks for stopping by and happy Monday everyone!
