Well, since this is my first actual blog post (yippee!!!) I will start with blogging about one of the first rooms I completed when we bought our first home. To begin, my husband and I moved to Virginia after graduating the University of Florida...Go Gators!! (We are Gator fans and loved living in Gainesville for a few years before moving). Anyways, we decided to buy our first place in a new state that we didn't know very much about...crazy, huh?? :) But I am glad we did buy our house because when we moved, I was 7 1/2 months pregnant and we needed a bigger place for our sweet little girl to sleep. Did I mention that when we moved, we also drove from Gainesville to Virginia? Hehe...well, it really wasn't that bad, and we had some great help from my in-laws who came with us to help us move.
Once we arrived in Virginia, we had to live in a couple of hotels for a few weeks before we could close on our home...it sounds pretty crazy and not fun, especially being 7 1/2 months preggo, but we got through it and it wasn't all that bad. I think we can firmly say that the Lord helped us through the whole process and we are very blessed and thankful for that!
In May of last year, we finally closed on our house and our daughter was born shortly after. Did I mention she was born 3 weeks early?? Haha! I was actually very grateful that she entered this earth ahead of schedule because I was soooo ready to meet her and so was my husband. Plus, right up to the end of my 3rd trimester, things were getting pretty uncomfortable and I was ready to pop!
I won't go into too much detail about the delivery, but overall, it was a wonderful experience and it happened VERY fast! My husband and I arrived at the hospital a little before 7AM and our bundle of joy was born shortly before 2:30PM that same day. Praise God!! :) And she is still the happiest, prettiest, little baby girl we have ever met.
Okay, so I know this post was suppose to be about my daughter's nursery, the first room completed in our house...and I will get there soon...I promise. I am very new to blogging, so I will try and show as many pictures of the room and the decorating that I can. I will also try and do a good job of showing all the paint colors I used in the room (really not that many) and I will talk about all the furniture pieces and things I would like to change in the room later on. So here it goes!!!
This is a picture of one side of the nursery...Now this is a picture of her room before I made some changes to it. I will do another post tomorrow of what her room looks like today, but I wanted to make this post to share with you all because for me, decorating seems to be a constant change as I try and figure out what works best for my family and I, and in this case, for my daughter. :)
This is a picture of the other side of the nursery. Again, I will post more pictures in the blog I write tomorrow of her room and I will have a little bit more to tell you about some of the changes...they aren't major, but enough to write about....at least I think so. :)
I think that will about wrap it up for tonight. The hubs and I stayed up a little late trying to tweak some things to the blog, and because of that, this post might be a little short.
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice creativity. Keep up the good work!
