Updated Outdoor Wreath

Once again, I finished some more small projects around the house this weekend and one of them was updating our front door wreath.

Our original front door wreath had little candle pumpkins around the bottom of it and I really did like that look, but then the wax on the pumpkins began peeling off, so it was time for a new solution.   :)
(This probably happened because the wreath faced the sun in the afternoon so the wax began falling off. hehe...I should have known that would happen eventually.)

Anyways, I decided to wrap the wreath in the yellow and gray yarn I still had left over from when I made our first wreath. I wrapped the wreath over and over again until I got a more fuller look and it turned out great!

Here is a picture of what the wreath looked like after I had finished wrapping it with the yarn.

I could have left the wreath like this and just hung it up on our front door this way, but then I saw a neat picture online of a "Welcome" wreath and wanted to do one myself with my own spin on it.

I gathered my supplies which included tissue paper, yarn, scissors, a Sharpie marker, and scrapbook paper.

I took the gray yarn and used it to swing across the middle of my wreath so I could put my "WELCOME" sign onto it.

The "WELCOME" letters were made with my scrapbook paper and I just used my Sharpie marked to write the words "WELCOME" on them.

Here is what the wreath looked like after I hung my "WELCOME" sign onto it.
This is pretty easy to do so I didn't post a step-by-step how to.

Next, I wanted to add some flowers to my wreath using tissue paper which I purchased at the Dollar Tree. You can click on the link below to see how I made my tissue paper flowers.

After the poms were made, I glued them onto the wreath.

I made only 2 poms for the wreath and may make more in the future...
but for now, I really love how it turned out!

A side shot of my wreath.

And another picture before I put it up on the front door!

Last picture for you!

Have a wonderful Monday!
